GUARDIANSHIP
LegalDoc-Prep handles;
Probate Guardianship and Juvenile Dependency Cases
A probate guardianship of the person may be appointed so that a guardian can take care of the physical, emotional, and educational needs of a child. A probate guardian of estate may be established when a child has assets, will inherit assets, or is the beneficiary of a deceased parent’s insurance policy. Most guardianships are of the person only. In some cases, there is a guardianship of both person and estate.
CONSERVATORSHIP
LegalDoc-Prep specializes in two types of Conservatorships;
Limited Conservatorship: This type of conservatorship is focused towards adults with developmental disabilities such as: down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy or other neuro-cognitive conditions, who cannot fully care for themselves or their finances.
General Conservatorships: meet the needs of many elderly individuals diagnosed with dementia or some form of cognitive decline.This type of conservatorship is also appropriate for individuals with traumatic brain injury, stroke, or any infirmity that renders them unable to advocate for themselves, meet their basic daily activities or mange finances.
ADOPTION
LegalDoc-Prep specializes in two types of adoptions;
Step Parent Adoption and Independent Adoption.
Adoption is the legal process of establishing a legal parent-child relationship when the adopting parent is not the child’s biological or birth parent. That means that once the adoption is final, the adoptive parents have all the legal rights and responsibilities of a parent-child relationship. That new parent-child relationship is permanent and is exactly the same as that of a birth family. An adoptive parent can be a stepparent or domestic partner of one of the birth parents, a relative of the child who has been caring for the child, or someone not related to the child by blood.
